Process Engineer
Process Engineers at bp are responsible for providing support to operations in the form of troubleshooting, commercial optimization, unit monitoring, event scopeing / event planning and incident investigations. As a Process Engineer you will also support other disciplines within the engineering department of the refinery, including; maintenance, inspection, mechanical and electrical engineering.
What are you going to do?
In this position, you are responsible for one or more process units at the refinery as part of a large and dynamic team of engineers. In the role of Process Engineer at bp you will make the difference and you will be responsible for delivering;
Operational instructions that match commercial or compliance strategies and optimize energy consumption at the refinery
From short and long term unit health monitoring. This information will be used to identify maintenance planning, commercial model updates and operational risks
Commercial modeling and development
Consulting, as a technology expert, to support Net Zero projects
Support in providing operational procedures for disabling and startup process units for planned maintenance activities
Support for HAZOP/LOPA studies
Technical support for safety incident investigations
Alarm & excursion definition and management
Who are you and what are you bringing with you?
A Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Chemical Technology / Chemical Engineering or related degree (Masters Degree heeft de voorkeur)
No minimum work experience required, but relevant work experience in the industry is the absolute preference
Excellent people skills and communication skills
Dutch language has absolute preference, but is not essential, but it is a requirement to learn it once you are accepted.

The team spends a lot of time interacting with multiple stakeholders in the company, including; discipline engineering teams, maintenance, commercial teams, central engineering team and operations. This gives you a unique exposure to many parts of the company and enables you to develop extensive networks within the company. The team culture is very relaxed and we place a lot of emphasis on team activities, both inside and outside the office.
